J.B. Akers was born in Beckley , West Virginia , and was admitted to practice law in West Virginia in 1999. Mr. Akers graduated from Wake Forest University , cum laude, with a Bachelors of Art degree in 1995, and received his law degree from West Virginia University in 1999. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of West Virginia, and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern District of West Virginia and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Akers is a member of the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, America Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, West Virginia State Bar Association and was Certified as a Lead Counsel Member by LawInfo in 2005. Mr. Akers’s areas of concentration are Catastrophic Injury, Personal Injury, Workplace Injuries, Insurance Law and Wrongful Death. Mr. Akers and his family are lifetime residents of West Virginia and he is committed to protecting the rights of the people of this State.
